We have to discern who we allow to give us information. The truth is if you will be my financial advisor, YOU have to make more money than I do. Otherwise, you are not qualified to teach me. If your doctor had a pack of Marlboro in his lab coat when you visited him/her, would you let them give you advice on how to manage your health? You can't take financial advice from your cousin Joe who's broke. If you want to climb a mountain, talk to somebody who climbs mountains. If you want to be successful in business, you have to talk to somebody who IS successful in business.
All of us have a tendency to let our guards down and to let negative people influence our lives. All of us have a tendency to let people suggest to us, whisper in our ears and take us into a direction that we do not want to go. All of us desire to be accepted, even from negative people. There's a quote from a philosopher and writer named Dr. Rollo May: "I'm just a collection of mirrors, reflecting back what everyone expects of me". Here's a question: What if people don't expect much of you? What if they don't expect you to succeed? What if they don't expect you to live your dreams? If you believe in that philosophy, that you surround yourself with people who are just a collection of mirrors reflecting what those people expect of you, and you're reflecting back what your expectation is, it really affects your chances of success and breaking out. Make a list of the people you spend time with. Do some serious evaluation. Are those people supporting you? Are those people taking you in the direction of my dream? Are those people encouraging you? Are those people helping you grow? You either have to limit your time with your negative friends or not spend time with them at all for a period of time. Then consider creating a new list of people who will support you, people who will challenge you to do more, people that have your back, people who are positive. Attract those kinds of people into your life in the new year. Seek out positive friendships, not negative ones.

Faith?
There's a lot of people who say: "You know what? My problem is I don't have enough faith". I believe everybody has faith, the question is what do you have faith in? If you have faith that, for example, your car won't start tomorrow morning, chances are it won't start. Thoughts held in mind, attract in kind. You attract what you think about. People have to develop good and positive faith. We have to create the kind of faith that will allow us to manifest the results that we really want to see in our lives. How many millionaires and multi-millionaires faith has given better lifestyles to? How many people it's given freedom to? How many people it's given greater health to? Positive faith does a LOT of good in the world. This brings us to an area where most people struggle: Faith in yourself! How can we develop that positive faith in ourselves? I think it's all about program. It's about choosing the programing we put in our subconscious mind. When your subconscious mind is programmed to do something, it just does it. It doesn't rationalize, it doesn't analyse, it doesn't critique, it does whatever it's told to do. Think about it, your subconscious mind is keeping your heart pumping as we speak, it's making you breathe without even thinking about it. If you ever get into an argument with your spouse, you get mad, you leave the house, go to work and all the way to work, you think about what else you could've said and what he/she said that made you upset... and all of a sudden, you're at work! Then you start to think: "how did I get here?" It's your subconscious mind that knew exactly how to get to work: "You turn here, you make a right there...". When we program our subconscious mind, we get the results we want. Everybody should have a "dream board" in their house somewhere where you will see it every morning and every night before you go to bed. Fill it with images with things you want to do, have or become.

The Idiot Box
Statistics show that one of the number 1 things that holds people back from being successful is TV. The average person in the developed world is watching between 5-6 hours a day worth of television. That's not counting the internet and any other distractions out there. There's lots of people that wake up, turn on the tv, get home, turn on the tv. I call it the idiot box. There's no way you can watch this much tv and create success in ANYTHING. Not in health, not in relationships, not in anything. If you go out there today and talk to 100 people, and ask them "would you like to be successful?", "would you like to create residual income?", "would you like to be free?" ... 100 out of 100 will say "yes". But they just can't get passed the wednesday night lineup on tv. This is an infection and mind virus in the world today. Here is what I think: You can watch other people create their dreams on tv or you can get out there and create your dreams for yourself. You have to live life! You have to start your OWN television show!

It is what it is?
One of the most ridiculous phrases that are being said all over the world over the course of the years is the following: "It is what it is". Incredibly limiting statement! People feel so wise and they feel so smart when they say this. You know what, leaders don't agree with this concept. What if the top leaders of the world said: "It is what it is, I guess there's not much we can do different". What if Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill said: "It is what it is". The reasonable person conforms to the world around them. The unreasonable person asks the world to conform to their point of vue. The leaders are the ones that say it is not acceptable to accept things as they are. They see something better than things are right now. They see things as they "should" be. They ask the world to conform to their point of vue. All progress in this world is due to the unreasonable person. The point? Be unreasonable. Decide to paint a picture that is not there today, decide to change your business so you can create "what is" tomorrow.

Inspiration is for Amateurs!
Inspiration is for amateurs. Professionals get up every morning and go to work. What does this mean? Amateurs will work on their business when they FEEL like it, they go to work when they're in the mood, only when they're inspired do they put in the necessary effort to grow their business. Professionals go to work everyday wether or not they feel like it, they go to work sometimes when they don't feel like it, they learn to discipline their mind to talk to people wether or not they're in the mood. They don't need inspiration to get fired up. They don't need their upline to pump them up, they don't need somebody from personal development motivating them to get them to do the things they need to do.

Do not annoy your relatives!
Do NOT annoy your relatives! Don't be the person who pitches opportunities during the holiday family get-together. Be the person that says: "You know, now is not the time, give me your number and I'll get back to you". Schedule the apointment for after the holidays, schedule the apointment for lunch or coffee or something for after the holiday get-together. You just don't want to be that person who "over does it" with your passion. A family function should be the time to get together, time to reconnect with one another, a time to meet people, a time to enjoy your family and friends. Get contacts? YES! Add people to your list? YES! Schedule appointment for another time? YES! Just don't be the one pitching INSIDE the get-together. You'll find that people respect you more, you will get better results. It's professional.

Maximize the next 6 weeks!
Building your business during the holidays is your decision. If you decide to grow your business during the next 6-8 weeks, you will grow it. If you decide to go to sleep for the next 6-8 weeks, that will create a result, too. It's sad to see people working really hard for 6 months, then go to sleep for 6 weeks and watch everything that they've built, fall apart. Decide that you will grow your business for the next 6-8 weeks! If you make the incorrect decision, you will risk what you worked really hard to build.

Don't get trapped
The following is something I observed and learned throughout the years of my professional career. If you want to succeed in business, it's important to realize how much time you spend on personal development, how much time you spend in training sessions, how much time you spend attending events and how little time you spend actually executing the things that will create you success. I learned to not get trapped in personal development. You can get trapped learning and never practicing, you can get trapped studying and never actually getting out there and talking to people. You're not going to get payed much for personal development. You eventually will get payed for it, personal development is important but so many people start down that road and they stay there, they forget that they need to execute what they learn.

Treat it like a job!
One thing I learned in this business of being self employed is that you HAVE to treat this as a regular job. You can't treat it just like a 'project', not just like a 'deal', not just an 'opportunity', treat like a JOB. If you have a job right now, you know your hours. You know when you're supposed to be into work, you know when it's ok to take break and lunch, what is expected of you and you know when you're supposed to be done. You have to know how many hours you're going to be putting into this business of yours before venturing into it. You have to show up wether you feel like it or not.
